Squarrel Monkeys

The squirrel monkeys are commonly seen in countries like Peru, Columbia, Bolivia, Ecuador, and other places. Their diet is bird eggs, bugs, nuts, and fruits. They weigh about 1- 3 pounds. The squirrel monkey has white colored fur around their eyes, ears, and neck. They can live to about 15 years and their length of their body is 10 to 14 inches long. Squirrel Monkeys are most common in South America.


Owl Monkeys

Owl monkey is also called the night monkey. Owl monkeys are also found in South America Bolivia and are related to Squirrel monkeys. The owl monkey is so unusual because it is the only monkey that is nocturnal. They spend all day huddled together in the hollow trees. Their big eyes give them the ability to see in the dark. The owl monkey has an orange belly and has a black back.

Spider Monkey

The Spider Monkey has a brown body but have a darker color on the limbs. They usually eat fruits and seeds. The mother grooms their young but their grooming is not as developed like other monkeys. A spider monkey weighs about 13 to 25 pounds and they live about 20 to 40 years. When they go to tree to tree they sprawl out like a spider and that is how they got their name, spider monkey.

Baboons

Baboons are the larges monkeys. They have long muzzles and they weigh 14 to 40 kilogram. The Females are about half the size of the males. Some monkeys walk on their back legs but baboons walk on all four. You mostly see baboons in Africa. There are different kinds of baboons like, savanna, hamadryas, and chacma baboons. Baboons have rough gray, brown like fur. Sometimes the fur gets big and fluffy causing a “mane”.
